What is CONvergence?

CONvergence is a convention for fans of science fiction and fantasy in all media held annually on the first full weekend of July. CONvergence was launched in 1999 and has grown to be the largest convention of its kind in Minnesota and beyond!Print

CONvergence is held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Bloomington – Minneapolis South in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota. The convention is host to more than 6,000 members spread across several nearby hotels. It is always held during the first full weekend in July, starting on Thursday and wrapping up Sunday evening. The convention never completely closes down during this time, providing members with access to a fully immersive experience for the duration of the event.

Volunteer Culture

One of the things that makes CONvergence unique is the powerful volunteer culture that has grown around the convention. CONvergence itself is 100% run by volunteers, from the over 200 members of the year-round convention committee to the over 800 staff and members who volunteer during the convention to make CONvergence the amazing event that it is!
