Your May 2020 CONvergence COVID-19 Update Is Coming

Greetings CONvergence Members!

Connie as a Wandering Host

Last month, we committed to updating you on a monthly basis about the status of CONvergence 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. As you might imagine, the news of the Minnesota State Fair cancellation has had a significant impact on our plans for the 2020 CONvergence convention, and changes the nature of the May update we had intended to post today.  We need to adjust to this new environment, and ask for your patience while we put together a formal announcement for next week, after the Memorial Day holiday.

As always, we appreciate your patience and understanding. Our Board of Directors, like our Convention Committee, are volunteers—some of whom are also essential workers. We are all doing the best that we can to adapt and serve our community during these strange times.

Remember, CONvergence is a people, not a hotel; not a date; and not even a specific event. We are a community, and we are invested in looking after one another. That means both ensuring the health and safety of CONvergence members, and ensuring that the community and our convention can persevere through and beyond this pandemic.

So, we put together a little treat for your Holiday weekend. Here is a playlist of some favorite CONvergence moments through the years for you to enjoy and to remember what we are all working for and trying to preserve.

We also understand that this may be a time of high anxiety for some members. We encourage you to help lessen that by posting your happy and positive CONvergence thoughts and memories on our CONvergence Community Facebook group.

This time is tough for the CONvergence community, the CONvergence Convention Committee, and everyone. But we can take care of each other in small ways while we work and wait for resolutions to our big questions. It’s the CONvergence thing to do.
