Bag End – Cabana 109

Need a visit to Middle Earth? Welcome to Bag End! We have a cozy ‘hobbit sized’ party room where you can partake of apple cider, seed cake (Bilbo’s favorite) and relax in the patio garden. On Friday afternoon there will be a special event, just for children, where they will create birthday cards for Bilbo, snack on cake while listening to Belladonna Took read out loud from the ‘Red Book of Westmarch’. We might even sing! ‘Bag End’ is a no-alcohol, kid friendly room where you can have a quiet conversation, linger over a mug of cider, and perhaps talk with the denizens of Middle Earth You might even encounter a wizard or two. (Just make sure to duck your head, this IS a ‘hobbit hole’). Children’s birthday party is Friday afternoon. Space is limited, so children (12 and under with 1 parent) are asked to sign up in advance. Look for the signup sheet on the green round door.

In the early evening, we’ll host salons, where you’ll have a chance to discuss your favorite topics in small groups with scientists and other experts. The Xenavesity of Minnesota is a fan club that has been “battling on” since 1998 and we’ve done parties here at CONvergence since year 1! We celebrate everything Xena and often include many other different sci-fi genres as well! The theme of our party this year is a surprise, but you can count on the fact that the WARRIOR PRINCESS will be the foundation of that party! In a time of leather clad heroines, special effects and syndication, a warrior princess in turmoil cried out for a fan club. It would be called the Xenaversity, a mighty band of friends forged in the cold of Minnesota. The friendships…the costumes…the subtext. Her tv show has INSPIRED the world!
