Programming Status Update
We anticipate another stellar year of programming in 2010. Our department has been hard at work and over 450 programming suggestions have been collected and posted online at http://tinyurl.com/yh6zc2b.
Because we already have three times the number of panels we could use, we are no longer taking panel suggestions.
The Programming Department has listened to your feedback and are reducing the maximum number of panelists per panel from 6 people to 5 people for 2010 and beyond. This will help give all panelists a chance to share in the discussion and allow for additional audience participation as well.
This also means panels are filling up faster than ever before. All panels are filled on a first come, first served basis so if you have an interest in sitting a panel, you should contact us right away. We apologize in advance if the panel you really wanted to sit is already full.
The sign up deadline is May 1. We may not be able to accommodate any requests after that date. Once the schedule is finalized, it will be available online at the sched.org site.
We are looking for people to volunteer as panelists and to staff Programming Operations (2-hour shifts) the weekend of the convention. Please email us at programming@convergence-con.org if you'd like to volunteer your time as a panelist and/or as a Programming Ops staffer.
Also, watch for an email later this month about panels that we'd love to schedule but are in danger of being cancelled because of a lack of panelist support.
