Volunteers
The Volunteers Department is responsible for organizing the at- con volunteer effort (like badgers and elevator monitors) as well as working with other departments to help them meet their staffing needs.
- New this year, we have a tier of volunteers to hold the con together we call "The Force." Being a Force Member means you agree you’ve committed in advance of the convention to eighteen hours of at-con volunteering including one badging shift. In addition to being devoted to serving the CONvergence community these individuals will work across departments learning more of the "behind-the-scenes" structure of the convention, and will earn a Force Badge to demonstrate others their commitment with pride. The Force welcome’s the Light Side and the Dark Side equally, so ANYONE CAN JOIN in advance of the convention!
- Retuning with gusto, the VolDen (Volunteers Den - located next door to ConSuite) is a place where convention volunteers can relax, play games, and otherwise socialize during most of the hours of the con. All you need to enjoy this perk is one hour of volunteering. Bring your Volunteer Card or show your Volunteer Button to gain entry! The Volunteers Department is excited have to David Peck as 2010 Sub-Head in charge of VolDen this year. We hope to see you there.
- Badging sign-up will be available by the end of March. Check the website for more details.
- Under the leadership of Jay "Rusty" Curry as 2010 Sub-Head, the team organizing the Volunteers Party is looking for energized/self-motivated people to help with layout and content (e-mail us directly to help at volunteers@convergence-con.org). Remember donating just one hour at the convention gives you full access to the party! Come see the convention highlights, talk with other volunteers, and stay for the door raffle.
