MISFITS at CONvergence!

CONvergence is a fundraiser for the Minnesota Society for Interest in Science Fiction and Fantasy, which sponsors and hosts a wide variety of clubs, events and programs year-round under the banner of MISFITS. You can learn more about what MISFITS does at www.misfit.org.

MISFITS Clubhouse

The MISFITS room party has now been dubbed the MISFITS Clubhouse (Cabana 114) and we have expanded our schedule! Full details including time and place can be found on the new online CONvergence programming schedule at http://schedule.convergence-con.org.

Room party hours: Open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9:00pm - 1:00am.

Crafty Geek: Bring your crafts and hang out with like-minded folks

Geek Physique: Aerobics and yoga hosted by Amada Marquez and co-sponsored by Geek Physique.

Geeks Read: Discussion of The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss (GOH).

Read the Book/See the Movie: Viewing and discussion of An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge by Ambrose Bierce. Copies of the short story will be available in the Clubhouse starting Friday for as long as they last. The short story is also available for download at http://misfit.org/bookmovie/index.htm.

Other Events

Charity Auction: A new tradition to raise funds for MISFITS.

In the Schools panels: Presentations by the Science Museum of Minnesota and the University of Minnesota Raptor Center, sponsored by the same MISFITS program that brings the Raptor Center, authors, and other creative folks to speak to school students around the Twin Cities area.

Mark Time Award Theater: Award-winning Audio Theater. The Mark Time Awards are sponsored by MISFITS.

Meet and Greet: MISFITS is hosting this casual ice-breaker gathering where attendees can get acquainted with the organization and each other.

Writing Contest Reception: Celebrate the work of the contributing authors and volunteers.
