New in 2009: Volunteer Den

Where Volunteers go to relax and chat with other volunteers.

Every year we try to do something new to make things better for you, our volunteers. This year we've added a place for volunteers to go to get away from the rush and hubub of the rest of the convention.

All that you need to spend time in the Volunteers’ Den is a Volunteer Button. You get that for spending ONE HOUR or more doing any volunteer activity that a Department Head will sign off on for your Volunteer Card.

In the past that we've had people providing massages behind the Volunteer and Information Desk. This year those massages will have a new home in the more secluded location of the Volunteer’s Den. You'll find us next door to the ConSuite. So if you need a bite to eat, it's not that far away. But we're not setting up food here. Use it as a place to meet up with your friends who've also volunteered. Plan out how you're going to organize the best LRPG. Spend some time reading that book you picked out of the library in the Literary Lounge. Check in with the Volunteer Staff on duty there to see if there is some way to get a couple of extra hours in to earn that T-shirt.

We would love to have the Volunteers’ Den open for the entire convention, but for now we're planning on generally having it open from 10:00am until 2:00am. There may be later hours based on demand, and you can even earn Volunteer Hours by helping us to staff the Volunteers’ Den beyond those hours.
