Let's Rebuild Len Wein's Comic Book Collection

As was reported a few days ago, two-time CONvergence Guest of Honor Len Wein recently lost his home in a fire. While Len and, his wife Chris and their son Michael were all unharmed, they lost their dog and a houseful of possessions, including Len's collection from his career as a writer and editor for DC and Marvel Comics. While insurance will cover the loss of the house, things of a more unique and personal nature are not so easily replaced.

Another CONvergence alumnus, Mark Evanier, is organizing an effort to help Len replace his collection of his own comics work. Many of these back issues are somewhat pricey, but some can be found in "bargain bins" at comic shops all over. And many comics fans may have extra copies in their own collections.

To read more about this effort and to see the checklist of the comics being sought, visit Mark Evanier's web page on the subject HERE.

If you want to save on postage and plan to attend MCBA Microcon on Sunday April 26 you can drop off your contributions there. Look for Melissa Kaercher or Christopher Jones at their tables to drop off your comics for Len. Microcon is open from 10:00am to 4:00pm at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds Progress Center (1621 Randall Ave St. Paul, MN). Tickets are $7.00. Visit http://microcon.mncba.com/ for more information.
