New CVG Marketing Director in 2009

CONvergence Marketing Director Jeremy Stomberg will be stepping down after the 2008 convention, after serving in that position since the founding of the convention. He had previously announced his intention not to run for another two year term, following the completion of his current term which would run through the 2009 convention. In accordance with the bylaws, the 12-member Board of Regents of the Minnesota Society for Interest in Science Fiction and Fantasy interviewed candidates and have selected Jon Olsen to serve out the remainder of the current term as Interim Marketing Director. Jon will assume the full responsibilities and voting rights as a Society Regent and as Director of the CONvergence Marketing Division following the 2008 convention until the conclusion of the current term after the 2009 convention, at which point the position will again be up for election by the Society's voting membership.

Jon Olsen has been a Co-Head of Connie's Space Lounge at CONvergence for several years, and is a long-serving volunteer for the convention.
