Guest of Honor Update

We regret to announce that two of our previously announced guests have been forced to cancel their appearances at CONvergence this year due to schedule conflicts. Both actor Simon Jones and comic book wrter/artist Phil Hester will be unable to attend this year. This type of cancellation is always a risk when booking talented, working professionals as guests. We hope both gentlemen will be able to join us in a future year.

We are always on the lookout for the silver lining in these situations, and the opening in our guest roster has allowed us the opportunity to realize one of the hopes we had for this year: To invite a favorite guest from past conventions to join us to help celebrate our fifth anniversary. We are pleased to announce that actor Michael Sheard will be returning to join us for CONvergence 2003. Michael has enjoyed a long and varied career, appearing several times on Doctor Who and in small but key roles in The Empire Strikes Back and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

Michael joins our other scheduled guests:

• Eric Flint - Author of the Assiti Shards and Belisarius series
• Katherine Kurtz - Author of the Deryni series and other novels
• John Kovalic - Cartoonist and creator of the popular series Dork Tower
• Andrew Probert - Production designer for TV & film including Star Trek
