Silent Auction

The Misfits Silent Auction is a fundraising event that takes place every year at Convergence. The purpose is to raise money for the many educational and community Activities that MISFITS is involved in throughout the year. Only the Convergence membership is allowed to bid on the many Guest and Science Fiction Collectables that are donated to the Silent Auction.

In 2007 some of the big sellers were a Unicorn Quilt made by E. V. Baldwin, that sold For 189$, A Royal typewriter from the estate of Gordon R. Dickson which sold for 101$, a framed print of Aureus Spiritus by LA Williams donated by Jon Knightz which sold for 75$.

This year promises to be a stellar year for Guest Collectables and many other things. Crist Ballas is donating a complete Makeup done for you ( the winner) by Crist, and A Bust of you (the winner) also done by Crist, these are two separate bid items.

A King sized quilt has been made and donated this year by EV Baldwin, for 2008 we have a Dragon of green and gold with a blue flame border and 3 Pillow shams, a quilted 24" dragon pillow, 2 hand painted 16" dragon pillows with bolster that will be offered in 3 lots.

Those are just a few of the many wonderful things we will have to offer the keen Collector, but you must stop by Atrium 1 to see everything and get details on all that will be available for bidding.

This year we will be doing a test section with bids on a sheet like a true Silent Auction does, so if you want to see us switch format from the jugs to the sheets you must bid high and bid often.

PLEASE NOTE: Any items at a 50.$ minimum or over will have a 5$ or larger bid requirement. This amount will be listed on the bid sheets.

We are also looking for things to use in the room itself like: gallon water jugs, display blocks, stands and plastic poster covers.

Bids on items in the upcoming 2008 auction will be accepted on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the convention. Winners will be posted after auction end late Saturday night. Items won may be picked up in Atrium 1 on Sunday 10 AM to 4:30 PM. Silent Auction Rules and Hours will be posted in Atrium 1 during convention
