Art Show
The art show features art submitted by artists from all over the country. Every year brings new and different art to the show, so there is always something interesting to see. The art is displayed for sale to the convention membership via an auction system. If enough bids are placed on an item, it goes to the voice auction on Saturday night.
This year's art show is concluded. We would like to thank all of our participants for making it a wonderful show. And we hope everyone will return next year to help us make it even better.
We would also like to congradulate our 2011 award winners:
- Best Amateur Artist: Justin Lewis
- Best Professional Artist: Chris Nitz Photography
- Best Amateur Piece: Sophia Zdon - Breathing Underwater
- Best Professional Piece: Danielle Pebbles - Awake and Dreaming
- Best in Show: Jennifer Menken/Gordon Smuder - Robot Trophy Head
If you are looking for information on the 2012 show, more will be posted as we get closer to the show. We normally try to get the rules and paperwork posted by the first of April. We made a number of changes this past year, so expect to see some further changes in the 2012 guidelines based on what worked and what didn't. If you'd like to offer insight into what you thought worked or fell short, drop us an email and let us know.
The show is entirely run by volunteers, so we are always looking for help running the show. If you are interested in helping out, please drop us an email at artshow@convergence-con.org.
